Who is Wolseley Law LLP?

Wolseley Law is a team of people who want to help. Everyone in our office has a strong connection to the city, and many to our neighbourhood, and are here because we want to practice law in a way that makes our clients comfortable while providing excellent legal service. We wear jeans to the office, but we’re emerging leaders in the profession. We bike to work, but we help folks with the most challenging times of their lives. We are trusted advisors who you actually like talking to. We’re a little bit different from other law offices.

True community law

You’re not just the neighbourhood that we do business in, you are our neighbours in life. Whether it is buying a home, adopting a child, starting a business, or planning for the future, we will make sure that we treat you like a friend, because often, you are. It’s the little things: lawyers who bike to work, use recycled paper, purchase carbon offsets to ensure that we are a carbon-neutral business, and support other local businesses – just like you do. We want to make Wolseley Law LLP a place that we can be proud of and that you can feel comfortable coming to with any issue, large or small.

Winnipeg lawyers, where fairness and transparency are our priorities

We’re here to try to make the process as clear and easy as possible. If your matter is suitable for flat fee billing, we’ll set a flat fee ahead of time. If your matter can be split up so that we handle some of it and you handle some of it, we’ll give you the option of trying to save you money that way. If your matter needs to be a traditional, hourly fee matter, we’ll let you know as soon as possible so that you can plan ahead.

Our vision

Wolseley’s principles of inclusion, community, and access to justice are the guiding ideas here. But what does that mean? It means that we are always taking a look at ways that lawyers can improve people’s interactions with the legal system; it means that we’re going to try to find the best solution for you but that we’re not afraid to stand on principle when we need to; and it means that no matter where you’re from, you should feel welcome coming in and bringing your issue to us.

Wolseley Law LLP is focused on balancing professional legal services, clear pricing, helping in the community, and our prioritizing our families and the people who work for us to ensure that we are practicing in the most ethical way possible, not only in law, but in life. Hiring a lawyer really can be different from what you think.

Where we work

Between 1871 and 1875, Treaty Commissioners, acting on behalf of the Crown, signed Treaties No.1 through 5 with First Nations leaders. The Treaties included agreements respecting the use of land that we call Manitoba. This land had been the traditional territory of the Cree, Dakota, Dene, Oji-Cree and Ojibway Nations for millennia before the signing of the Treaties.

Wolseley Law LLP acknowledges that our office  is situated on Treaty One Territory, the traditional lands of the Anishinaabe, Cree and Dakota peoples, and the homeland of the Métis Nation. We acknowledge with respect and gratitude the many First Nations and Métis whose footsteps have marked this land for centuries.
